This Sony network fully controllable webcam enables the user to sit back and scan around this European City. Once the webcam has loaded the "Control" icon is used to gain full control of the live webcam stream. The eight directional arrows that appear to the left of the live stream, enable the user to direct the cameras to suit their viewing requirements. The viewer can also adjust the frame rate using the user friendly drop down menu. The frame rate varies from 1FPS to 20 FPS. There are eleven hi-resolution webcam presets, all of which can be selected by using the drop down menu which is located beneath the directional arrows. Below are some examples that have been captured by the webcam using the capture icon which is located above the live stream. The example above shows a panoramic view of the city. The user can use the zoom in or zoom out functions located just below the live webcam stream to isolate particular areas of interest that catch the viewer's eye. Alternatively, there is the option to click within the live stream itself to zoom in or out, as well as to scan the surroundings. The powerful zoom is clearly demostrated in the example above which shows a close up view of the action and even the builders at work, allowing the user to see for themselves just how much work is being done! The size of the live stream can also be altered by initiating the user friendly drop down menu, with the smallest option being 160x120 and the largest 640x480. The above still image shows residential flats and when zooming in you can spot the residents going about their daily chores. The one downfall with these webcams is the unavailability of the trigger and settings icons, however the user still retains an impressive array of control over this very high tech and high resolution webcam.

There are also 16 preset camera positions which are accessable via a drop down on the conrol panel. The presets point towards key viewing areas such as the lighthouse, sea-lions, various bird perches, a fresh water pool and weather instruments. The powerful zoom lens can also be controlled to enable extreme close-ups of the wildlife and scenery. Below are some examples which have been captured by the webcam using the "Capture" feature located in the main menu. Wait for the webcam to load. Please note you will need java enabled on your browser for the webcam to work. Once the webcam is active you can start to control it by selecting "Control" which is located to the left of the menu at the top of the screen. After a short wait, the control panel will then appear to left of the webcam stream. You may be asked to wait for a set number of seconds if someone else is currently controlling the camera. It operates a queueing system which enables each user a fair chance to control the webcam. There are 8 directional arrows on the conrol panel. By clicking these you will move the webcam in the desired direction. The "WIDE" button allows you to zoom out giving a broader view of the coast. Alternatively, the "TELE" button will zoom in on areas of your choice. The zoom is powerful and can be extremely useful for examining the fresh water pools and other interesting wildlife. You can also change the speed of the live stream by using the "Frame rate" FPS (Frames Per Second) drop down menu located at the top left of the screen. The greater the number of FPS the smoother the stream, however, this will be restricted by the speed of your internet connection and the speed of your computer. There is also an option to change the size of the webcam image on your screen. To do this use the drop down menu labelled "View size" which is located directly below the "Frame rate" control.

You can control the camera by using the directional arrows - up, down, left and right - which are located to the left of the live webcam stream. The Pan/Tilt scan buttons will cause the webcam to automatically sweep, either left and right (pan) or up and down (tilt). This live webcam stream is very smooth and responsive, however if you do experience difficulties try experimenting with the "Image Quality" menu. Favoring motion over image clarity will increase the speed and responsiveness of the stream. This busy live webcam stream, as you can imagine, often captures interesting every day events. You can save the live images by clicking on "Start Capture" which is located under the "Buffered Image" menu. To view the saved images select "Viewer". A new screen will then be loaded displaying a slideshow gallery of your captures images. The zoom function is conrolled by using the "Tele" button (with an imagae of one tree) to zoom in or the "Wide" button (with an image of three trees) to zoom out. When using full tele zoom it may be useful to use the "Near" focus button to sharpen the image. Be careful not to get too up close and personal with this powerful zoom! The "Help" button at the bottom left of the screen may be of interest to more advanced viewers of this live webcam stream.
